Sentinal and 41st Parameter Form Strategic Partnership
(May 1, 2008 - MIAMI) - Sentinel of Miami, Florida and 41st Parameter of Scottsdale, Arizona, global leaders in providing business-ready, Internet safety, security and consumer protection solutions, today announced a definitive strategic partnership focused on delivering the world's most advanced sexual predator identification and detection solution. As a part of the agreement, the privately held Sentinel will offer 41st Parameter's unparalleled device identification technologies. The companies will also work to build integrated solutions that will allow businesses to capitalize on Sentinel's broad portfolio of Internet safety solutions.
"Our customers rely on us to deliver the newest, trusted and most proven detection services in the marketplace. The combination of our respective technologies brings together significant synergies that will bolster our platform. Through this partnership with 41st Parameter, we have once again raised the bar for the detection and tracking of predators lurking online." said John Cardillo, CEO of Sentinel.
In 2007 Sentinel launched Sentinel/SAFE along with key partner MySpace.com that was the first national, real-time, searchable, directory of sex offenders and convicted criminals. The database contains detailed backgrounds on nearly 600,000 registered sex offenders in the U.S. from various sources. The records are updated frequently with new information, including identifiable details of the convicted sex offenders, such as name, age, physical descriptions-height, weight, eye and hair color-as well as distinguishing features such as scars and tattoos.
"We admire Sentinel and share in their mission to provide a safer and more secure communication platform for websites, specifically in the area of social networking. This partnership allows 41st Parameter an opportunity to extend our core value by demonstrating what our technology can do in combination with Sentinel's already powerful capabilities" said Ori Eisen, Founder and Chief Innovation Officer, of 41st Parameter. "Businesses who want to create collaborative environments in a safe and responsible way, can take advantage of this solution from Sentinel and 41st Parameter to protect their communities," Mr. Eisen continued.
"The safety concerns posed by the Internet have created the need for more sophisticated technology tools that can be used by many companies across multiple platforms," said Ted Schlein of Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers an investor in 41st Parameter and a leading venture capitalist in the security marketplace. "The joint solution from Sentinel and 41st Parameter is the ultimate combination of data collection and device identification which will result in a safer online experience for social networking websites. It infuses integrity into an online channel that was previously challenged with protecting the most innocent victims of crime online."
Sentinel is currently the exclusive external security and safety provider for social networks and online communities with more than 300 million collective users. Sentinel works closely with law enforcement and non governmental organizations such as The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), to ensure safer and more secure online experiences.
